Topic: Fabrication of Cold Plasma Reactor System and Application of Cold Plasma in Seed Treatment

Project Description: The current research proposes the development of a new technology that is based on line frequency and high frequency double dielectric barrier discharge reactors (DBD), gliding arc discharge (GAD), and plasma jet reactor systems for the treatment of seeds at atmospheric pressure and low pressure.

Objectives: Fabrication and application of a cold plasma reactor system to enhance the germination rate of seed, plant growth, and increase crop productivity.

Expected outcomes: Fabrication of a fully-fledged automatic plasma reactor system which can be commercially be used for

  1. Decontamination of seeds while in storage
  2. Boosting up germination rateof seeds
  3. Treatment of water that may be used as organic fertilizers
  4. Increased  crop yield
