Dr. Kamal Chapagain

Dr. Kamal Chapagain is an Assistant Professor at the department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and received PhD in Engineering and Technology on the topics “Short-term Electricity Demand Forecasting for Thailand and Japan ” from Thammasat University, Thailand collaborative research with Hokkaido University, Japan. His major research area is focused on Electricity Demand Forecasting, Smart Grid and IoT Implementations, Electricity Market Paradigm, and Blockchain implementation on Energy Transactions. He has received Masters in Telecom Technology from SMU, INDIA in Jan, 2010, and Masters degree in Information and Communications Engineering with specialization in 4G and Resource Sharing (Cognitive Radio) from Pulchok campus, Nepal in 2013. He started his career as a Teaching Assistant in 2004, and as an Assistant Professor from 2007 at Institute of Engineering, TU. Currently, he is a Program Lead for the project IRDP(Integrated Rural Development) with the objective of strengthening research and development capacity of Kathmandu University with major thematic areas mainly on renewable Energy, Agriculture and Rural Development, Health related livelihood.
