Ms. Kamala had been in the business for a very long time. But while most of the people were losing their income-generating source during the pandemic, Ms Kamala started getting a curiosity as to how she could use the pith of the Pomelo, which is generally bitter in taste and people do not use them. It was just out of curiosity when she used her traditional cooking knowledge to try and minimize the bitterness of the pith and make it into something that people would enjoy it. Turning this small idea into a business, Ms. Kamala not only became an entrepreneur on her own, but provided employment opportunities for other women as well, and became an example to others as well.
Zhyambala is a local business founded by Ms. Kamala Lama whose main products are sour candies that are made from the covers of fruits like lapsi, bhogate, bibiro etc. It also produces other local foods like masyeura, herbal tea, soybeans herbs, etc. The idea of this company started when Ms. Kamala saw an opportunity regarding the wastages produced after the fruits were consumed or used in other manufacturing but their outer layers were discarded. She mostly deals with the manufacturing and sales of her titauras and other products but alongside, she and her family also provide a market for other local natural products such as bananas, eggs etc from which are procured from Makwanpur. Her business is not limited to one aspect only, there are numerous products but the one that is the most appreciated is the titauras made from the pith (white fleshy part of Pomelo).
