NTIC Idea खोज “ग्रामिण परिवेशको लागि नवीन समाधान” announces applications open

Nepal Technology Innovation Centre (NTIC) an autonomous body established under Integrated Rural Development Programme (IRDP) at Kathmandu University (KU) has announced the application open for ‘NTIC Idea खोज’ by organizing a virtual press meet on August 2, 2021. 

NTIC announced the launch of NTIC Idea खोज as a part of its second phase by officially opening the application for idea submissions all across the nation. The application is open till August 28 and calls for submissions from the field of Agriculture and Rural Development, Alternative and Renewable Energy and Health Related Livelihood.

From the pool of applications received, ten ideas will be shortlisted for NTIC Idea खोज while five selected business ideas will be provided with an opportunity to become a part of 1-week intensive training  and support program along with access to mentorship with entrepreneurs and business professionals for a period of one year or more. NTIC will also be supporting the incubated businesses to develop the Prototype, business strategy and provide access to finance to be market ready. 

The virtual press meet saw the attendance of academicians, media personnel and professionals working in the field of entrepreneurship. The event officially kicked off with a note by Dr. Bim Prasad Shrestha , PI /Team leader, IRDP/NTIC, KU who gave an introduction to KU-IRDP/NTIC project. “We are working to convert ideas into meaningful industrial ventures in the areas of Agriculture and Rural Development, Alternative and Renewable Energy and Health Related Livelihood. NTIC looks forward to connecting with innovative ideas from all across Nepal to tap the untapped resources and potentials so that they get a national platform and ultimately get connected to mainstream development.” added Dr. Shrestha.

Following that, Ujin Shim, Residential Expert, Project Managing Consulting (PMC),Korea, spoke about the Idea Studio Nepal partnership with KU-IRDP/NTIC project. She said, “I wish all the success to this meaningful collaboration. One good business idea and technology can change the lives of many, this project is one such platform that can make such change possible.” , Prof. Rupesh Krishna Shrestha, School Based Enterprise and Start-up Incubation Expert delivered a short speech about the NTIC Idea खोज its vision and goal. He informed, “To develop Nepal, encouraging technology related entrepreneurship is crucial. NTIC Idea खोज is working to flourish the same in the country. We welcome ideas from all across Nepal, invite innovation and offer them support. ” 

Following Shrestha’s speech a  NTIC Idea खोज poster was showcased at the event. The floor was opened for the members of the press to place their queries. To  mark the end of the event, Dr Binaya KC, Project In charge at KU-IRDP/NTIC delivered a vote of thanks.
